From the catalog: "In a poster by Otte Wallish, printed in Prague in 1930, the pioneer holding the rifle in one hand and a sickle in the other is defending Jewish settlement. The caption calls for "defense - security - construction". The verse from the Book of Nehemiah - "With one of his hands wrought in the work and the other hand held a weapon" - connects him to the era of the first Return to Zion, closing a historical circle."
