Keren Hayesod Poster Exhibit - Ben Gurion Airport

Translation / Interpretation / Caption Text

"Forty historic posters which were the work of noted artists such as Nahum Gutman, Reuven Rubin and the Shamir brothers, and which helped encourage the public to get involved, will be exhibited for the first time before the public at large, at Ben-Gurion International Airport, providing those leaving and arriving into the country an opportunity to encounter the history of the state and of the Zionist movement. In addition, the exhibition will include the first public display of a special poster created by designer and curator David Tartakover on the occasion of Keren Hayesod's 90th anniversary. As Tartakover said, "Keren Hayesod has a place of honor as one of the organizations that undertook the design of the public symbols of the Zlonist movement. The posters have been present at almost every major event of the Jewish people over the past 90 years, and they translated Zionist ideology into the language of form, color and words."
The opening of the Keren Hayesod-United Israel Appeal poster exhibition will take place on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 6:00 PM
at Ben-Gurion International Airport in the presence of Information and Diaspora Minister Yuli Edelstein Exhibition Curator: David Tartakover
