Curator's Note:

This poster features as its (intentionally darkened) background a well-known photo of David Ben-Gurion announcing the Declaration of Independence of the state of Israel in May, 1948.

The photo, taken together with the blue horizontal bars above and below the photo quote the Israeli flag, which was adopted several months later.
